Did God Really Say?

Satan deceives the world by putting doubts in our minds of what God says
notice his style in the temptation of Eve
Satan prompts Eve with this question:
“Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Gen 3:1
Nowhere in the Scriptures did God say what Satan really asked about
While God gave the simple and clear Command earlier:
“Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat,
for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” Genesis 2:15
God said that specifically mentioned “the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil”
clearly He did not say “fruit from any tree”
but Satan had to do it
Satan had to ask the question arousing Eve’s logic
playing the innocent
making a reputation that Eve knows the answer better and he doesnt know
“if you are God’s creation…what did God really say in this matter…?”
“if you are wise…prove it to me then…”
“did God really say that?”

Satan is well aware of the situation
He knew what God really said
He would even quote scriptures (Matthew 4:5)
with this pattern in mind, it wouldnt be a surprise to realize that Satan knows the Bible
and he knows how to play words in it deceiving many
“oh this person knows how to quote scriptures…he must be a messenger from God”
“…he must be a Christian too”
Satan would use God’s words to identify himself as part of God’s people
not only does Satan believes that God exists (making him non-atheist)
but he knows how to use the words of God
confronting Jesus, Satan quoted from the scriptures (Matthew 4:6)
in attempt to put doubt in Christ’s mind
Satan would do the same pattern to us how much more!
putting doubts in our minds
arousing our logic
tempting us to defend for our well earned knowledge
instead of defending the Truth
defend yourselves
“you are a good person”
“you are beautiful”
“you have earned a degree in so and so”
“you worked hard”
“you deserve to be praised”
“God loves you”
“and He will accept you even if you dont repent!”
“its in the Bible you see”
interestingly enough, Satan is also called “the devil”, meaning “slanderer” or “false accuser”
Jesus describes Satan better:
“for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

Satan would even use people to deceive us
when Satan used the body of the serpent to deceive Eve
he can use people as well
being a Christian, we hear other people digging in to our past
exposing our past sins
making us doubt God’s forgiveness
using the same pattern from Genesis:
“did God really say…?”
“did God really say He has forgiven you?”
“of what you did in the past…who on earth would forgive such a thing?”
and that doubt would be coming through the faces of our loved ones
our friends
our brothers
sadly even our parents
anyone Satan could use to put doubts in our minds
putting us in shame in front of them
this pattern is used buzzillions of times
and is still being used
and will continue to be used
deceiving many

deception is everywhere
its in our society
its in our groups
its in our family
our friends
even in our Churches
but as long as Satan is in power (John 12:31)
the attempt to deceive is inevitable
but by the grace of God
He allows us to discern the fakers through His words
“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word,
truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:3-6
