In His Time

that was the time that hazel and i got the chance to evangelize to my childhood friend’s dying father
he was already on a wheelchair for weeks
so thin
and urinates in a bag that he carries with him with his chair
i confronted him saying that he is going to die any moment
but we just dont know where he is going
are you sure of your salvation?
not sure
were his exact words

so i introduced to him the gospel
the necessity of repentance
the conviction of sin was in his eyes
he would listen to anything at that desperate time
i mentioned to him that he cant save himself by good works
that he needs Christ to save him
that all his good works are but filthy rags
that not only we are sinners but we hate God by nature
this is God’s standards as opposed to man’s standards
and that he needs to repent of his sin
he then prayed to God in chinese
though i could barely understand what he said
but these were some of the things i understood
i sinned against you
all my life i was in rebellion against you
forgive me for my sins
i need you to be my saviour
i then left him some john macarthur cds for his dad to listen to
and instructed my friend to read to his dad scriptures everyday beginning on Matthew
which i hope he did
i also left him a promise
that i will minister to his family
then 9 days later he died
though i heard his words
i wasnt so sure of his salvation
the only evidence i have to prove his salvation was the fact that God placed us there on the right time
our pastor gave us some john macarthur cds so i burned several for my friend to hear
the struggles we had
the biblestudies we had in our home
it was all a preparation for that event
to evangelize to my friend’s dad
that was my only hope of his security
i wasnt there to see or witness the events of his remaining days as a christian
cause we lived up north
now in the brink of being broke
we could barely even commute to the main city for the weekend
we wanted to minister to my friend’s mom
conduct biblestudies during sundays after church in their home
even with the lack of financial resources
we feel the need to be there
we dont know how
but God will provide
as He has been always to us

hazel’s parents on the other hand heard the news
realizing that he died at the age of 64
and her parents are 66 and 64
they began to be in fear
to think that hazel’s dad wasnt taking care of his body for most of his lifetime
we pray that this might be an opportunity for us to evangelize to her dad

we dont know what His plans are
all we see is where He is taking us
to God be the glory forever
