Are we rightfully obedient Christians?

“By this we know that we have come to know Him if we keep His commandments” – 1 John 2:3
A true believer is obedient to God’s commmandments. There is always that desire to obey and be faithful to God’s laws – a natural fear of transgression and a natural indignation for sin.
Obedience in the life of a true believer becomes like second skin over time, but obedience, per se’, must be gracious obedience and not just an act to “supplement” your being a Christian.
Do you obey God because you “just have to” as a Christian? Or do you obey because you feel grateful for Christ’s redemption of your soul from hell?

Another question that just popped up right now is this: Do we obey the commandments of God more out of fear of God’s wrath than out of love for God? Let us ask ourselves these questions and ponder on our answers to see if our obedience to God is on the right track.
