The Regenerated Man: Are You Saved?

Written by Warren |Posted on August 13, 2008 | Comments

the Christian must produce fruits
it is not a command
it is a declaration
if you are a Christian, you will produce fruits

“As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” Matthew 13:23

“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit” Luke 6:43

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. ” John 15:16

- – -
there will be change
there must be
and that change wont be coming from man’s efforts
not from man’s ideals
not from what he learned from society
no
but that change will be done by Christ

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. ” Philippians 1:6
- – -
so if the man doesnt bear fruit after professing Christianity
the man must examine himself wether the conviction of sin was genuine or not

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” 2Corinthians 13:5

“If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” 1 John 1:6

“Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. ” 1 John 2:4-6

- – -
how then do we bear fruits?
“Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.” Matthew 3:8

- – -
what if i dont bear fruits?
“Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ” Matthew 3:10

“Every branch of mine that does not bear fruit he takes away” John 15:2a

- – -
the man can only be saved if he considers Christ as their Lord first
many people would say
ok ill accept Christ as my Saviour first
then when things turn out well, i might consider Him as my Lord as well
but no
how can the person turn to Christ if he doesnt know how sinful he is?
how can the person turn to a physician if he doesnt know he is sick?

“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” Matthew 9:12
“For I did not come to call righteous people, but sinners.” Matthew 9:13

the person cannot consider Christ as their Saviour if they dont consider Him as their Lord first
- – -
accepting Christ as their Saviour only is cheap grace and thus will never produce fruits

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? ” James 2:14

“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” James 2:17-18
- – -
producing fruits is not something that we Christians are required to do in a legalistic sense
no
it is something that we normally do because that is Christ’s work in me
the Christian cannot live in sin

“No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him” 1 John 3:6

“Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. ” 1John 3:8-9

and the man’s faith becomes valid if there is fruit of the Spirit
thus the man with faith is secured of his salvation

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ” John 15:5
- – -
for the record
good works cannot save you

“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” Isaiah 64:6

attending Churches cannot save you
even preaching the gospel cannot save you

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ ” Matthew 7:21-22

if Gandhi does not repent of his sins, all his good works will not save him
there is a standard that we must all meet
and it is not man’s
Gandhi and the like follow man’s standards
man’s standards are not God’s standards
we must follow God’s standards
and God’s standards can only be seen in the scriptures

- – -
only Christ can save you
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

and nothing else
