The Gospel is Offensive

no matter what you do
if you’re speaking the gospel
they will ridicule you
they will speak all kinds of evil against you
they will persecute you if they had the chance
you offended their pride
the pride that they are trying to protect
using a shield that has these words written on it “do not judge me fool!”
who are you to lecture them?
who are you to “judge” them?
who are you playing the “holier than thou” role?

you will be hated
you will lose friends
even family
and you cant help but feel miserable
feeling miserable because you are still in the flesh struggling with your emotions
even if you knew that you planted the seed on the wrong kind of soil (Matthew 13:1-23)
and yet you still felt the pain as if you failed God
as if you felt that you are a worthless servant of Christ
for years you’ve been a Christian, and you can’t even convince your own mother?
even your best friend
even your brother or sister
nobody listens to you
and you think nobody listens to you because you are not an effective Christian
but no
we Christians should know better
we know that there is no problem with the seed we are planting
no
for to say so is concluding that God’s word has a problem
because the seed is God’s words and not yours! (Luke 8:11)
therefore the problem is actually in the condition of the man’s heart
because it is the man’s heart that couldn’t accept the seed
it couldn’t accept the word of God
it couldn’t accept because the Gospel is offensive
its heart is not willing to be ruled by God
not willing to be dethroned
but you be of cheer my friend
for if they are offended because of the word of God
you can be sure that what you sowed is God’s words and not yours

“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12

it is not that you are not an effective Christian
it is because that the soil is not good
be commited to spreading the seeds and not your words
don’t think that you can change the message of God just for it to be acceptable
this is blasphemy
let the word of God be the WORD OF GOD
as its original intent of the message
even if the message offends
because the Gospel IS offensive no matter what you do

“and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ” Matthew 10:22

“You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. ” Luke 21:17

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. ” Matthew 24:9

“The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. ” John 7:7

“We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. ” 1 Corinthians 4:10

“If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.” 1 Peter 4:14

“But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. ” John 15:21
