or Koinonia meaning partnership, participation, social intercourse
fellowship with the Church is about fellowship in the gospel
you cant have Christian fellowship if you do not put the gospel as your common ground
saying “this is my belief, and thats your belief, but we’re still friends” is not fellowship, this is compromising
“For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?” 2 Cor 6:14

me and my wife, apart from the gospel, will always quarrel
she has a very strong personality
while mine is very weak
she can dominate me if she wants
and i can be dominated by her easily
but because of our obedience of scriptures by God’s grace
we share common ground and thus have fellowship together with the Lord
again
it is not about compromising
its all about what the scripture says
its about the original design God has for marriages
which is putting Him in the center of our family
both our hearts and minds desires to be more like Christ
hazel and i were only together for 2 weeks before we decided to get married
to many this is suicide
many would say that we need to get to know each other first at least for a year before we talk of marriages
but our reaction was “get to know Christ first”
if our marriage went well by the grace of God thru the fellowship in the Gospel,
how much easier it would be to have fellowship with a friend whom you’re not required to marry if having fellowship in the Gospel

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,” Philippians 1:3-5
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? ” 2 Cor 6:14
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. ” 1 John 1:7
