After His Own Heart

Blogging Truths in a Deceptive World

La Dolce Vita!

It totally slipped my mind that yesterday was a Wednesday. I was supposed to text in our thanksgiving prayers to Pastor Larry, if we could not listen in to the ongoing prayer meeting. I must really be getting old… Lol.

Anyway, I will just post everything here…

There are so many reasons to celebrate and thank God for. Warren – well, as you all know, he just had his “battle” recently and though he was broken, I believe he came out unscathed – finally got a job. Actually, we’ve both been jobless the past weeks and we have started wondering what God’s plan was for us. We have been thinking about doing full time ministry but at the same time wondering if doing so would glorify Him more.

The online business we launched last month was sort of shelved for a while because we discovered some loopholes. Warren also considered selling that business but again, as fate would have it, the people we have been dealing with to help us fix the loopholes finally submitted their proposal and looks like we are now geared towards letting the project off the shelves and into the market again.

I finally found time to work on a project I have been dying to just at least start — my garden. At long last, I finally gathered enough courage to begin working on the piece of land that idly sits on the side of our house. Nothing motivates me best than the thought of my mom celebrating her birthday on the third of September, Pastor Larry and Sis. Deng coming over to visit us and Warren celebrating his 30th birthday on October 3. Gee, I have to have the barbecue grill set up soon, too!

Another reason to thank Him for is the opportunity given to us to evangelize to a new member of our family. We recently hired a household help and she is Catholic. She believes in the things I used to believe in and for the first time, I am seeing myself then up close and there are moments when I’d find myself groping for the right words to say to make her see that the things she grew up believing are unbiblical. One of the struggles we face is we want to make sure that she really understands from her heart and not just because we are her employers.

Lastly, we give praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for giving us a family of believers, our family at the Disciples of Christ Community Church, who tirelessly and selflessly pray for us. These are the people that we look forward to seeing and having fellowship with every Sunday. These are the people that we love in the Lord.

Ahhh, la dolce vita!
