Testimony for the Masses

had an opportunity to make a speech at my friend’s wedding
I was tense
I will be speaking in front of the people who knew me from my childhood
and all of a sudden I will be speaking of Biblical perspectives on marriage
I used our marriage as an example
I discussed to them that our marriage is hell if we don’t put God in the center of our marriage
God is the original designer of marriage
so if He is the designer, then that would mean that only He can make it a success
and not other religions or other psychological efforts can save marriages
only God can

after the speech I didn’t get any negative response
I was hoping I’d get some
but no
what happened was the people that I knew
whom are all chinese
whom by nature are not very expressive
whom people that rarely smile except for business purposes
these people that I grew up with
these people that were used to be my environment
did notice change in me
you were not like this before
we’re happy for you now
you’ve matured a lot
never thought you’d ever improve
but you delivered quite a testimony
and at that time I realized I gave a good testimony
making my marriage as an example
that without God in our lives
we’d be having marriage from hell

I am just thankful that more and more people are witnessing our marriage
our Christian lives
and they are noticing changes
they are noticing some kind of rarity in us
what is it that made us stand out
what is it that made us so unique
and they couldn’t help but praise God because they have witnessed the power of God working in us
they can’t praise us
because we already admitted to them
that we are totally different
and what makes us agree is only thru the Gospel of Christ
truly
