There’s a Battle? Where? Wha…?
Written by Warren | Posted on October 31, 2008 | Comments
its weekend and I feel tensed already.
In a few hours, we will be visiting my mom.
Negative thoughts would roam around my head. Thinking “o boy, we’re gonna have a bloody debate again” she’s gonna continue on convincing me to stop following Christ and follow the money. I feel like we’re gonna have another [...]
Where was Hazel all this time?
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 31, 2008 | Comments
Hi everyone! I know I’ve been fairly quiet the past days.
If my memory serves me right, the only contribution I have for this blog the past week/s was the poster announcement about the free downloading of MacArthur sermons come November 5th.
So, where was Hazel all this time?

I got you, babe!
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 31, 2008 | Comments
Okay, this one is downright funny and at the same time, surprising.
Warren was working on transferring everything to our newly acquired ‘abode’ when something caught his eye – an email address of one commenter who found no qualms in expressing HER disgust over an open letter I published here in September. His curiosity over the [...]

Birthday Gift: God’s Grace
Written by Warren | Posted on October 28, 2008 | Comments
Happy Birthday Honey
Hazel’s birthday wasn’t the typical birthdays as many would expect
baloons
friends
families
great food
gifts
but no
none of them were there
especially when we lack financial resources we can’t do much
so how was Hazel’s birthday?
first thing in the morning we bowed down and gave praise to God
for giving her another year of her life on earth to be used
later [...]
Is It A Warfare Yet?
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 25, 2008 | Comments
The past two days had been a breeze for us, as we have consistently blogged here at After His Own Heart.
The neighbors were friendly, they took time out to welcome us on our first day by bringing us food and helping us out with some repairs.Yesterday, they allowed their children to attend our children’s bible [...]
1st Bible Study at Lara
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 25, 2008 | Comments
before we started our biblestudy
we invited several folks from the neighborhood
everyone said a yes
before 7PM Hazel and I excitedly prayed to guide us along the biblestudy
I prepared the chairs and the table
7:30 still nobody came
we reminded a couple of others and said they’ll try catch up
still nobody came
I was beginning to think that they’d think [...]
Lara Neighborhood
Written by Warren | Posted on October 25, 2008 | Comments
here are some photos of what the houses look like here at Lara
some houses here are left abandoned with no one to live in
the government sometimes awards these houses to others who can afford to pay the remaining amount

Lara Day 2
Written by Warren | Posted on October 24, 2008 | Comments
this morning we had a conversation with a couple of Jehovah’s Witnesses (they always come by 2s)
and I wasn’t in the mood to discuss with them the Bible because I was working
so we talked anyway
and eventually brought out my Bible
they hesitated and wanted to leave because they knew this is going to take much of [...]
Children’s Ministry
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 24, 2008 | Comments
The children’s ministry commenced today.
I had two attendees, 4 year old John Lem and 3 year old Grace, both kids live next door to us. It is my first time to teach toddlers so it was really challenging. Grace is on the hyper side and she is like a parrot, she would repeat every word [...]
Lara Day One
Written by Warren | Posted on October 23, 2008 | Comments
it was so tiring today
we woke up 5:30 in the morning
and started packing like crazy
the jeep came to pick us up at around 8am
there was only one guy in the jeep
the driver
and he helped me lift those heavy stuff all the way to the vehicle
good thing our neighbor helped

Opening A New Chapter: Lara Ministry
Written by Warren | Posted on October 23, 2008 | Comments
its time to leave the Melba Ministry
what was the end-result of ministering to Hazel’s folks?
rejected
our 5-month stay there only proved to everyone that we stood our ground
which was standing firm in the Word of God
they also stood their ground
which was to build higher walls and hide their sins
while we lived there beside Hazel’s folks
it is [...]
We’re Here!
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 23, 2008 | Comments
We got here in North Breeze Subdivision, Barangay Lara this morning at around 10AM. Warren and I are just ecstatic to finally be here. I think he is planning to hold the first Bible Study this Saturday night. He also mentioned giving the pastor of the full gospel church in this village, who happens [...]

Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 22, 2008 | Comments
After a very hectic weekend and a very trying Monday, you would think we would sit back for a while and just let the heat subside. Well, no, we are just one unstoppable couple!
We’re on a roll, guys! We’re moving this Friday and we just can’t wait another day, we are so excited about the [...]

Update: Lara Ministry
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 20, 2008 | Comments
We just received the 12 Tagalog New Testament and 6 Manga Messiah bibles from Judy of Iloilo. We found their website through the search engine and we sent them an email requesting bibles and other materials, just barely a week later, we received more than what we were hoping they would give us.
Judy belongs [...]
A Call to Action
Written by Warren | Posted on October 19, 2008 | Comments
I would like to respond to Hazel’s last blog
yes Christians
we need you
in fact
whenever we see a fellow believer that is disobeying the great commission of Christ
which is to make disciples of all nations
or not even exerting efforts to make opportunities to preach to others
when we see these we feel discouraged
and we admit that it is [...]
Rant: Wake up, Christians!
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 19, 2008 | Comments
“If we can’t find encouragement from the church, then where are we supposed to go?”, Warren asked.
He was complaining to me about how we don’t get much encouragement from some of our church mates. He was telling me how disappointing it is to even think about how some of our church mates come on Sundays, [...]
Breaking Up With An Unbeliever
Written by Warren | Posted on October 19, 2008 | Comments
before I met Hazel I had a girlfriend
we’ve been together for 8yrs
she’s not a believer
our church was rebuking me for this
telling me not to be yoked together with an unbeliever
but I didn’t listen
I thought by being together with my unbelieving girlfriend, I might persuade her into church
and become a believer as well
but as years went [...]
Happy Anniversary, Freedom!
Written by Zhey Chua | Posted on October 18, 2008 | Comments
I am writing this at exactly 8:00 in the evening today for a very specific reason. Today, at this hour, I celebrate the first year anniversary of my liberation.
Last year, I arrived at the Mabalacat Bus Station with my then three year old niece, Asia, bringing nothing else with me except my trusty laptop and [...]
