Lara Day One

it was so tiring today
we woke up 5:30 in the morning
and started packing like crazy
the jeep came to pick us up at around 8am
there was only one guy in the jeep
the driver
and he helped me lift those heavy stuff all the way to the vehicle
good thing our neighbor helped
Hazel’s dad was there
all he did was saying
pass by the backyard not by the front cause you might scratch my car that was parked in the front
and all the heavy stuff we need to carry along in the backyard
which was like a forest
filled with tall bushes
wet soils
smelly urine and manure of Hazel’s dad’s adult doberman
he didn’t bother to help us out
nor was I expecting
I had bitterness in my heart against Hazel’s dad
in fact
if there were anything that I’d regret marrying Hazel would be the fact that the old man is her dad
so I’m really glad to get off of that place
every morning we’d hear Hazel’s dad smashing metals with his hammer
the doberman’s endless barking
in fact, Hazel lost 2 jobs because of these annoyances
and since we were not welcomed because they did not welcome the gospel
it is best if we just leave the place
even if all our life savings went to that house that we built
we decided to leave it all behind and move to Lara for another ministry

the first few hours here in this place we already got welcomes from our neighbors
one kid, about 3 yrs old, was already visiting us most of the afternoon
and the kid’s mom wanted her to attend Hazel’s bible classes for kids
so praise God for this
I also got the chance to invite Hazel’s sister and her boyfriend to come for a bible study this Saturday
also our neighbor as well
at first it seemed to be easy to invite them
unlike at Melba we get straight answer: no
but we’ll see what God has in store for these people
we pray that God might open their minds and have them turn to repentance for their salvation
not only because we are beginning to love it here
but also that God may be glorified as well
