Is It A Warfare Yet?

The past two days had been a breeze for us, as we have consistently blogged here a
t After His Own Heart.
The neighbors were friendly, they took time out to welcome us on our first day by bringing us food and helping us out with some repairs.Yesterday, they allowed their children to attend our children’s bible class. One of the dads even watched while I taught his son and after awhile, he left trustingly. We also had time to see the pastor of the full gospel church in the area who was also very accommodating and excited to receive news about the availability of Grace To You materials which he can get through us. And then, this afternoon, we talked to an old friend, Rommel, and he liked talking to Warren about spiritual things because he said he learns a lot and he also said that he likes Warren’s views since they are bible-based. The kids who attended this afternoon’s class also grew in number, I had three attendees.
Everything seemed to look rosy. Warren had to repeat himself one too many times s
aying, “I can’t believe it was that easy!” meaning it was that easy to talk to these people. Everyone seemed to be just nodding their heads to us. On occasions like this, I have already learned to think the way my Tatay Larry would if he were in my shoes. The same thing goes for Warren. We often would stop talking in the midst of the excitement and just think… “How would Tatay react if it were him?” or “What would Tatay say if this was him?”
Well… We just knew. Tonight’s empty seats on our first Bible Study was a clear indication that the battle has formally began.
May God be gracious and merciful to those who will reject His Gospel in this village and may it also be His will for us to lead a few to His flock. As for Warren and I, may we be constantly reminded that the rejections we are facing and will be facing should not discourage us, it is not us that they are rejecting but Christ.
