Jean

Our dearest friend, Jean Fadzai Gasho, is being attacked for blogging about what transpired between her and her daughter a few weeks ago.
It was supposed to be a touching story, one that every Christian mother would want to experience in their lifetime, but sadly, her beautiful post was twisted in meaning and message that it has gained a ton of hate-filled comments, name-calling and threats to report her to the social welfare department for child abuse.
Up until last week, Jean and I have been exchanging emails privately through Facebook, encouraging each other and just having “virtual fellowship”. The exchanges have become regular that when she stopped sending me emails, I began to worry about her and her daughter.
Jean’s blog, The Virtuous Woman, has become a vulnerable target for Atheists because of her spunk and amazingly mature Christian faith and views. She first gained the ire of these Atheists when she made a comment in Ray Comfort’s blog a few months ago. That pretty much opened her to attacks, derisive comments, contempt and the like. She has remained strong in Christ in the midst of it all and continued blogging for the True Gospel, until her October 31st blog post came along.
I pray that everything is okay with Jean and her family. I have not heard from her in the last three or four days and I am beginning to worry for her safety. I pray that no one has taken rash actions and put her daughter away. I pray that it was all just an empty threat. I pray that in all of what my dear sister in Christ is going through, she will remain steadfast in the Lord. I pray that may God’s will be done.
May we all join our hands in prayer for this woman who has shown so many people how an ordinary Christian suffers persecution for the name of Christ in this day and age.
