After His Own Heart

Blogging Truths in a Deceptive World

No comfort zone for Christians

Posting this here is not an easy decision to make, but we did it anyway simply because it is the truth, and it is a great part of our Christian walk that we must acknowledge. We are not perfect, far from it, we are still works in progress, and as Warren told me later that day, we are only sinners saved by grace.

May this post encourage others, but most of all, may it be a wake up call to those who like us have become complacent. There is no “comfort zone” for Christians, it does not matter if we do our devotions religiously, we surround ourselves with like-minded people, we read our Bible everyday, we read sound Christian books, listen to Christian podcasts, evangelize to people, and so on… Those things we do are not enough reasons to feel like we are safely cocooned and protected. There is absolutely no reason not to be alert at all times for indeed, the enemy is always crouching at the door, ready to pounce on us at any unguarded moment.

This we learned the hard way. We had to be shamed for us to be wise.

It is our hope and prayer that “Reality Check” will serve as nothing more than just another testimony for Christian readers to be more aware and take on that pro-active stance in their Christian walk. For unbelievers, may it be a proof that Christians are just as human as everybody else. We are not perfect and we also do not pretend that we are. Like all of you, we are also sinners. The only difference is that we are saved by God’s grace.
