Bo Sanchez to Teach Biblically?

Written by Warren |Posted on November 29, 2008 | Comments

When was the last time you ever heard Bo Sanchez teach Biblically? When was the last time after reading a material from Bo Sanchez you took out your Bible and read a certain verse? When was the last time you ever heard Bo Sanchez preach on repentance? That we are all born sinners? That we have offended an Holy God? That we NEED salvation from Christ as the only sole solution to our depraved state?

Since Bo Sanchez claims to be a Christian, that would mean that he is professing that he is a follower of Christ – hence “Christian”. But let us try to compare the principles of Christ’s teaching and Bo Sanchez’s and see whether he is really a follower of Christ.

Christ sole purpose was not to:
teach you to be wealthy – in fact, He demands us to deny ourselves even our riches
make an impression that God adores you inspite of your sin – He teaches wrath of God (e.g. hell, fiery furnace, Hades, gnashing of teeth) more than God’s love
entertain people

But to:
Call Sinners to Repentance- “I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32
Preach Salvation – “And He said to them, Let us go into the neighboring towns, that I may proclaim there also. For it was for this I came forth” Mark 1:38
Die for Our Sins – “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:28
Be Our Lord – “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
Be our Savior

None of which was mentioned by Bo Sanchez. Bo Sanchez wants us to be wealthy, to love this world, to see ourselves as special. These are all temporal and does not give glory to God. In fact it is an offense against God. Where is the respect for God in that? What is happening here is we are worshiping ourselves rather than God! Such sin deserves instant death for this is an offense to the first commandment among the ten-”do not have other gods before me”. Rather we have worshiped the created than the creator (Rom 1:25).

Imagine Christ would say these:
“I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to health and wealth lifestyle.”
“Let us go into the neighboring towns, that I may entertain there also. For it was for this I came forth”
“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to life of riches and comfort.”
“If anyone would come after me, he must say he’s a Christian

No. That is entirely not the theme of Christ. That is the theme of Bo Sanchez. That is his teaching. Twisting the Truth of Scripture leading more and more souls to the depths of hell and they think they’re doing the Christian way. They are both deceiving and being deceived simultaneously.

Now I do not care if there are millions of people out there following Bo Sanchez. If he is not teaching the Word of God he is not teaching authority. And he is not bringing people to Christ. Whether or not people love and adore him, if he teaches health/wealth prosperity gospel, he is not teaching Biblically.

You may say “so what if he doesn’t teach from the Bible?” Jesus wouldn’t have given out this warning if He thinks false teachings wouldn’t be an issue:

“But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.” Matthew 7:15

You may say “well Bo Sanchez is not a prophet. So he can’t be labeled as such.” Wrong, prophets bring the message of God. But since we have the Bible with us unlike in their time and the Bible is the message of God, teachers are also considered as the modern-day prophets. The principle is the same: they both bring the message of God-at least they appear to be. And what will happen to these folks who pretend to be Christians?

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!” Matthew 7:21-23

These folks who had these “good intentions” are actually considered as “working lawlessness” in the KJV “work iniquity”. If these folks can prophesy, cast out demons, and do many wonders and yet they’re labeled as “workers of iniquity” how much more people who lead others astray.

St.Paul gave out this warning to the Galatians:

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. ” Galatians 1:8

St. Paul says even if he himself or the other apostles or even an angel would preach a gospel not according to the Scriptures, let him be accursed. St. Paul here uplifts the Word of God way higher than man and angels. How much more Bo Sanchez who is lower than the angels. So let us not be surprised if people such as Bo Sanchez, which is lower than the angels and St. Paul himself, let us not be surprised if Bo Sanchez experiences the curse mentioned here in that day of the Lord if he doesn’t repent of this act he is doing. Bo Sanchez is clearly preaching a gospel contrary to what Christ and the apostles are teaching.

So the next time you listen to Bo Sanchez, ask yourself this: would Christ teach this?
