But we have Christ!

I was told by a sister in Christ that the women hopes for me to “give our relationship a little more time for it to blossom.”

This was after I have expressed some of my concerns about how I do not see some of our sisters growing in the Lord, how cold and uncaring they seem. Of course, my expressions were carried out in light of my observations and I feel that the validity of my concern is unquestionable. I have been going there for a year already, for Pete’s sake!

So when my “complaint” was met with that statement, I was taken aback. Why? What else do we need to have in common before we can act like “sisters”? Don’t we have Christ? Isn’t Christ enough reason for us to grow, draw out encouragement from so that we can give out encouragement to others in the flock, be one? I told her that and while she agrees with me, there is also little that she can do. I feel her.

And then again she quipped that the church is in need of revival. I was like: “What? Revival? Isn’t the cross of Christ enough reason to have passion, zeal and motivation?”

People, CHRIST DIED FOR US! He hung on the cross, lifeless, to redeem us from the clouts of hell. We are undeserving of this and yet, He loved us so much He paid for us and the price was His crucifixion. He hung on there naked, bleeding, nailed, battered, bruised, spit on, laughed at, mocked and DEAD, all for what? For you! And for me! And for mankind. What revival do you still seek? What revival do you still need?

The blood of Christ is enough, brethren. It is all that we need.
