More Trials and Tribulation Ahead

(well there will always be trials and tribulations ahead of us…but the ff is just what concerns me anyway)
This morning was my first time to preach at the city jail. I preached to the women and there were 18 of them. I preached on the Introduction to the Gospel of Matthew. My colleague and brother in Christ, Norman, is fully booked. He preaches from Monday to Friday in different areas and, just this morning, I learned from him that he will be doing another ministry on Sunday afternoons. Now, to those who are not aware, preaching is hard work. Not only will you need to set time to prepare your sermon outline, but you will need to pray, then pray, then pray some more. Preaching everyday would risk the quality of one’s studies and prayer life. So since I noticed the pressure on Bro. Norman, I volunteered myself to do the preaching for today since I normally accompany him to the jail ministry twice a week. He was glad that I volunteered. I’m a bit worried myself because if I would do this on a regular basis, I might lose more opportunities in looking for work, given the situation that I also preach on Sundays in Betis and another pastor is also inviting me to do studies in their area during Saturdays. But will have yet to confirm me of the venue.
Having these ministry opportunities in front of me is exciting, but having them together with “making tents” to sustain my family is another big issue that worries me. I need to prepare my studies, pray, continue devotions with Hazel, and “make tents” to make ends meet altogether.
So how was the preaching this morning? By God’s grace…convicting.
