Blogging Truths in a Deceptive World

According to Plan

Written by Warren |Posted on May 7, 2009 | Comments

Lately we’ve been pretty busy with work. It was stressful for us for these past few weeks. But at least we are seeing progress. I’m getting a stable job. Hazel is also doing good with her part time work. We are also starting to venture on several internet businesses. All for the purpose of rebounding from our previous lifestyle in the mission field. We really became irresponsible with our financial health. I thought that if I could do the work of a minister, God would just take care of us. Although He did, but going down that road living as a martyr could also prove irresponsibility on my part as the bread winner as the head of the family.

It was hard learning that lesson. It took us several months of financial instability, unemployment, health stress, etc for me to realize my mistakes. I realized I was becoming legalistic about living as a martyr. But at the same time I believe God with His divine plan allowed it to happen. I realized that the experience we went thru affected much of my preaching engagements. Several folks already confessed that they saw improvements with my preachings. Hazel too also said that much has changed. Now my preaching carried more weight because it was combined with hard learned experience when we were still unstable. Yes we did learn the hard way. It was a humbling experience. But somehow I matured for the better.

This time we got ourselves too busy with work so that we don’t make the same mistake again. This time we will want to save more money. We will want to be serious with our jobs. We will want to be serious with our spiritual lives as well. And so far by God’s grace and mercy we see progress.

Truly Lord, we do not deserve your teaching us. Thank you Lord that you never did leave us. It was all according to plan.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. ” Romans 8:28
